Celebrating the Sacraments at St. James
We hope you will celebrate Jesus' presence through the Sacraments with us.
Anointing of the Sick A healing sacrament for the chronically or terminally ill, young and old, or prior to surgery. Occasionally celebrated at Mass, but arrangements to celebrate the Sacrament can be made to meet individual and family needs. God's healing Sacrament offers healing on many levels. Call the rectory at 572-0499.
Baptism We celebrate baptisms for infants on the last Sunday of each month. Congratulations and Welcome! Call the rectory to register for infant baptism preparation, 572-0499. Our director of Parish Religious Education, Jo Kusek, arranges preparation for older children for baptism. Call her at 572-0369.
Adult baptisms are arranged through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process with adult baptisms at the Easter Vigil. For information for adults on the Catholic faith, explore the R.C.I.A., the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, by calling Bob May at the rectory. This process of inquiry is usually a group process and meets weekly from September through May. This link will lead you to more information and a registration form for Catechumens, Candidates and Sponsors.
Communion Our second graders receive their first communion in the spring time. Students must have attended PRE or the 5-day school for first and second grades. Adults in the RCIA program receive their first communion at the Easter Vigil. Contact Jo Kusek at 572-0369 for student information and Bob May at 572-0499 for adult information.
Communion is available during Masses each day. Occasionally we have a Communion Service in place of a Mass. We invite home bound parishioners to receive the Eucharist. Eucharistic ministers are sent forth from the 9:30 Sunday Mass to visit our home bound parishioners with our prayers and blessings and to share the Eucharist. Please call the rectory to arrange home communion visits. Home Communion is also available during First Friday and First Saturday.
