BLUE ARMY

The Blue Army-or the World Apostolate of Fatima-is a worldwide public association of the faithful.  It responds to the requests of the Blessed Mother to help save souls and bring peace to the world.  The Blue Army cell at St. James Parish meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 in the Adoration Chapel for about an hour.  We pray the Rosary, the divine chaplet and other prayers.  This hour of prayer is open to all.  Membership is made to the Blue Army through a pledge to make the Morning Offering, pray a daily rosary and to wear the scapular (a cloth medal).  Other devotions include the First Saturdays.  For more information on the Blue Army you can go to: http://www.wafusa.org   For information on St. James Blue Army, contact Elaine Meyer at 571-7105.

LEGION OF MARY

St. James Parish participates in the Worldwide Legion of Mary.  Our group has been meeting for over twenty years.  Weekly meetings are held on Tuesday nights at 7:30 and consist of prayer, as well as assignment of ministries.  The Legion of Mary visits door-to-door within our parish boundaries, welcoming neighbors to St. James and answering questions about Catholicism.  Members also visit our newly registered parishioners.  Another priority of the Legion is to visit the Maplecrest Nursing home three times a month to pray the Rosary and distribute communion.   Other members regularly visit Immanuel hospital.  Auxiliary members strengthen our community through their daily prayers which include the rosary and the Tessera (three prayers of intercession).  You are always welcome to visit the Legion.  There are no dues and no formal membership.  For more information on the worldwide Legion of Mary you can visit www.legion-of-mary.ie/  on the Web.  For more information on our St. James Legion of Mary you can contact Louis Alvarez at 991-8941.
