COMMUNITY CONCERNS
The Community Concerns Committee is a parish committee with Pastoral Council
representation.
PURPOSE
· To inform and help the people of St. James to become involved and aware of human problems and social justice issues
· To seek ways for the St. James community to assist in the areas of human needs and promote established parish service programs and projects giving support for the dignity of all peoples
· To encourage and offer opportunities for the people of St. James to volunteer and give support to charitable organizations along with other organizations and agencies which promote social justice
MEETINGS When meetings are scheduled, they are held the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the Parish Library.
COMMITTEE PROJECTS
· Annual Lenten Soup Supper
· Afghans and baby items for Essential Pregnancy Services (EPS)
· Petition letters to our Congress and legislature
· St. Martin de Porres school supplies drive and other collections
Other Parish Helping Projects, Organizations and Activities
· Truck-a-thon (food drive)
· St. James for Life Committee
· St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving clothing drive
· Christmas Family Angels (gifts for families in need)
