Welcoming Committee

The purpose of the Welcoming Committee is to make new parishioners feel welcome, to help them learn about the parish and feel at home here, and to help them get involved.   Welcoming Committee members often are among the first parishioners new registrants meet.  St. James is a large parish of over 1,400 families.  New parishioners easily can get lost in the crowd.  After new registrants call the parish office, they are invited to a registration/orientation meeting where they meet one of the priests, a staff member, parishioners who belong to the Welcoming and Stewardship committees, and other new registrants.   The process helps new parishioners feel more at home.

Registration/Orientation meetings usually are held twice a month-on a Thursday evening and a Sunday morning.   Committee meetings are held as needed the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the Parish Center.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?  If you would like to volunteer to  welcome new parishioners, please complete print this page, fill out the information and return it to the parish office, or you can put it in the offering basket.
