Reading and Reflection
The wisdom of Anna and Simeon stands out.
They prayed, they waited, and they recognized God. Their missions
were to acknowledge God's presence in the temple and take this news to
the world. They also confirmed to Joseph and Mary that they
were fulfilling God's mission. We have many older people in
the parish whose wisdom, prayer and perseverance has brought them to
recognize God and serve. Today let us also pray the prayers
of Anna and Simeon for we have seen the Lord, let us go forth in peace.
