Today is February 22, 2008 Friday of the Second Week of Lent |

It is important to be able to answer Jesus' questions in today's Gospel. We often focus on the question directed to Peter and apply it to our own spirituality. Who do you say that Jesus is? How do you recognize and love Jesus? There are two questions and the first question Jesus asks is about others. Who do they say Jesus is? This is an important question for our spirituality, too. Have we studied the church teachings, the Papal documents, the learned theologians, and the wise teachers? The Spirit uses these means to also reveal who Jesus is and we can learn from all of them. During this Lent if you are wanting to know Jesus better, read an encyclical, get a good book on faith, attend a retreat or speaker's presentation. Then you will be able to answer both questions.
