Tuesday of the Third Week of Lent

Reading and Reflection

Reading I:    Daniel 3: 25, 34 - 43
Responsorial Psalm:   Psalm 25: 4 - 5 ab, 6 and 7bc, 8 - 9
Gospel:   Matthew 18: 21 - 35

Over the next few weeks most of us will prepare and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.   To prepare we need an examination of conscience.   AND we need to forgive those who have sinned against us.   We pray that God will forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.   Certainly we must take steps today to show forgiveness to those who have hurt us.   Believe in them and see them through God's eyes.   This doesn't mean to forget what they have done or put ourselves in harm's way.   But the anger and hurt we carry can destroy us and others.   Perhaps the other person lives far away, won't talk to us, or has died.   We can still work on forgiveness within our own soul and it will change us.   Ask God to help.

Reminder:   Rice Bowls are in the Narthex with great suggestions for Lenten sacrifices.

The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/022608.shtml  This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
