Several months ago NAMI began meeting once a month at St. James Parish Center.   This is a support group for friends and family of the mentally ill.  There are so many layers of care needed by not only the mentally ill individual, but also the family members and other care-givers that a support group such as NAMI is very valuable.   Today we see that even Jesus' family members cared for him so much that they went to get him and protect him.   Their understanding of him was wrong, but we can imagine that they loved him very much and were doing what they could to help him.   Understanding and love are what we all need.   If you or a friend deals with mental illness, God will help you through direct ways and ways such as the NAMI meeting.   Be sure to turn to God for help.  NAMI meets today at 9.

The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/012608.shtml This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
