Wednesday of the Seventh Week of Easter

Reading and Reflection

Reading I: Acts 20:28-38
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 68:29-30, 33-35a, 35bc-36ab
Gospel : John 17:11b-19

This is the time of the year when we send our graduates into the world.   We hope they are prepared.   We pray for them.   We expect them to accomplish more than we did and build on our foundations.   Our goal has been to improve the lot of the world and leave a legacy.   Jesus does the same with his disciples and with you and me, he also sends our graduates into the world.   How very important it is to help our young people know that their "work" is also a vocation.   As we await the commemoration of the coming of the Spirit, let us pray for our graduates.

Come Holy Spirit!

Today let us pray for St. James Parish and the Pastoral Staff.

The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/050708.shtml  This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
