Thursday of the Seventh Week of Easter

Reading and Reflection

Reading I: Acts 22:30; 23:6-11
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 16:1-2a and 5, 7-8, 9-10, 11
Gospel: John 17:20-26

Jesus speaks of the love he has for the Father.   He has worked to let others know the Father so that they, too, may love God.   As I open the scriptures, I seem to find more and more ways to love God and to realize that my actions reflect a love that I didn't know I had.   So often we don't realize day to day how much we love someone.   Then if there's a scare, or a tragedy, we are surprised at the depth of our worry, grief and anxiety.  It's a measure of the love we have.   Jesus' death helps us to realize our love for him and for God.   Today, let us try to use God's name in love, to let others know God through our love, that they, too, may love God.

Come Holy Spirit!

Today let us pray for St. James Parish and the Pastoral Staff.

The readings can be accessed at  http://www.usccb.org/nab/readings/050808.shtml  This is an easy click to the daily readings.  Use the back button on your browser to return to the reflection.    We continue to build this ministry and pray for parishioners to contribute monthly.
